About the Brand
Since 1929, the Penguin Bookshop has been a fixture in the heart of Sewickley, Pennsylvania. Though having been located in various storefronts throughout town over the years, the Penguin has continued to thrive through the loyalty of its customers and the passion of its booksellers.
The Challenge
During the pandemic, when storefronts were closed to the public, it was imperative the Penguin had a website where customers could browse books, attend virtual events, and remain connected to the literary world. This redesign aimed to address each of these needs, all while matching the charm and personality of the bookstore itself.
The project was conducted in two parts: research and design. I conducted interviews with business employees and customers, generated use cases and user personas, and conducted content inventory and site mapping as part of the initial research phase before moving onto wire framing, designing, and prototyping.
The website site map, wire frames, and prototype were built in Figma. If you would like to view this project in more detail, please feel free to contact me.
